Polish developer CD Projekt RED has announced the release of a new patch for an improved version of its fantasy open-world action RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC.
Recall, announced yesterday, February 13, the hotfix is designed to fix the performance problems of the updated The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which appeared after patch 4.01, released in early February.
The patch only requires downloading a few hundred KB and does not change the version of the game. Judging by the first reviews on Steam, the developers managed to eliminate the slowdowns, but the performance remained at the same level.
CD Projekt RED is also working on fixing CPU usage issues, performance improvements on PC (with DirectX 12) and consoles, ray tracing improvements, and restoration of HBAO shading on PC.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered was released on December 14, 2022 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and S. On consoles, patch 4.01 improved graphics, increased frame rate when playing with ray tracing, but lowered it in performance mode.
