Ubisoft has a ‘very solid improved version’ of Skull and Bones, but it hasn’t been seen yet

Portal PC Gamer noticed that as part of a recent financial report, publisher Ubisoft commented on the development status of the long-suffering online pirate action Skull and Bones.

Recall that Skull and Bones was announced in 2017. In January 2023, the game was rescheduled for the sixth time, to achieve an acceptable level of polish and balance.
Skull and Bones has not made a strong impression so far (including supposedly testers), but Ubisoft CFO Frederick Duguet is confident that this will change when gamers see “improved version” project.

“We said in January that we were very happy with the testing we did in early January, and now we have a very solid and improved version that players have not seen yet”Duguet noted.
Duguet added that this is what Ubisoft is going to focus on next month to further promote Skull and Bones. Whether we are talking about new demonstrations of the game or public trials, it is not clear.

An open “beta” of Skull and Bones was announced back in September, but nothing has been heard about it yet
There was no clarification of the timing of the Skull and Bones release in the financial report. After the recent postponement, the release is expected at the beginning of the next fiscal year, i.e. after April 1st.
Skull and Bones is being created for PC (Ubisoft Connect, Epic Games Store), PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and Amazon Luna. Players will have to go from a beached outcast to the most famous pirate in the Indian Ocean.
