Publisher Warner Bros. Games and developers from his American studio Avalanche Software reported about the release of the first post-release patch for his fantasy open-world RPG Hogwarts Legacy.
The update, which debuted late on February 14 on PC and Xbox (released on PS5 before the end of the week), aims to boost “overall gameplay performance and stability, and improved online connectivity”.
The PC Gamer portal notes that the patch did not help many and even made it worse: players on Reddit, the Warner Bros. and Steam is reporting frame rate drops and increased stuttering.
At the same time, some users report performance fixes, smoother gameplay in previously problematic locations, and stuttering fixes.
Among other things, the patch also brought Legacy to Hogwarts “shader type compilation optimization”correction “lower frame rates on NVIDIA graphics cards compared to AMD” and fixing a memory leak with global illumination.
A complete list of changes introduced by the update is available on the Hogwarts Legacy website. The developers also caught a number of bugs (for example, the inability to interact with the merchant after loading the save) and crashes.
Hogwarts Legacy was released on February 10 on PC (Steam, EGS), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. The project received from 84 to 90% on Metacritic and has already entered the top 10 Steam games with a peak online of 879,308 concurrent users.
