realme today launched two versions of the GT Neo 5 smartphone in China. One of them supports the fastest charging for smartphones — 240W. The manufacturer has confirmed that a smartphone with the same charger will be introduced to the international market, and such a smartphone will be announced this month. We are talking about the realme GT3 model.

The manufacturer did not specify the date of the announcement of the novelty, but this will probably happen during the MWC 2023 exhibition, which starts on February 27. Nothing is known about the characteristics of the device yet. However, we note that the GT series of smartphones traditionally offers more productive components compared to the GT Neo series. Recall that the GT Neo 5 introduced today uses last year’s flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, so it is likely that realme GT 3 will receive the current Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagship.
For the 240W charger, the company designed a custom 12A power cable and a compact dual GaN power supply. Without GaN technology, a smartphone charger would be much larger.
The 240W charging version of the realme GT Neo 5 is equipped with a 4600mAh battery. It is very likely that the GT3 model will receive the same battery. Recall that the GT Neo 5 is also offered in a version with a 5000 mAh battery, but with a 150 W charger.
According to the manufacturer, the smartphone battery uses more than 60 levels of protection and is the first battery in its class to receive support for charging more than 200 W, and its safety is confirmed by the TUV Rheinland certificate. As part of laboratory tests, the battery passed 1600 charge cycles from 0 to 100%, while maintaining 80% of its original capacity. Under normal conditions, this is more than four years of using the gadget.
