realme has introduced the GT Neo 5 smartphone in China. The main feature of the novelty is that the smartphone comes with the fastest 240W charger on the market. True, the novelty will also be available in a more affordable version with support for 150W charging.

The realme GT Neo 5 is powered by last year’s flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. The 240W charging version of the smartphone offers 16GB of RAM, as well as 256GB or 1TB of storage. The 150W charging variant will offer 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB of RAM, but there’s only one storage option, 256GB.
The smartphone is equipped with a 6.74-inch 10-bit AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2772 × 1240 pixels, a refresh rate of 144 Hz, a sensor frequency of 1500 Hz and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.
The 240W version of the smartphone is equipped with a 4600mAh battery and comes with a 20V/12A power adapter. The 150W charging option has a larger 5000mAh battery and comes with a 20V/8A power adapter.
According to the manufacturer, when using a 240-watt charger, the GT Neo 5 battery is charged to 20% in just 80 seconds, to 50% in 4 minutes, and to 100% in less than 10 minutes. Using charging for just 30 seconds will provide a battery reserve for two hours of using the smartphone in talk mode. The novelty also indicates support for previous generations of VOOC and SuperVOOC chargers.
The main camera unit of realme GT Neo 5 consists of a 50MP Sony IMX890 1/1.56” sensor with OIS support and f/1.9 optics, an 8MP wide-angle module with f/2.2 optics and 112-degree viewing angles, and also a 2-megapixel macro module with f / 3.3 optics. The main camera supports HDR, panorama mode and can shoot in [email protected]/60 FPS and [email protected]/60 FPS modes.
On the panel of the main camera of the smartphone there is also a rectangular LED notification indicator. It can be customized for various applications. In addition, it indicates the battery level — glows red when the battery charge is below 20%.
The front camera is a 16-megapixel Samsung 1/3.09″ sensor with f/2.5 optics, support for HDR, panoramic shooting and the ability to shoot at 1080p resolution and 30 frames per second.
Realme GT Neo 5 uses an octa-component cooling system, which includes a vapor chamber and multiple layers of graphene for heat dissipation. The safety of using ultra-fast charging with a smartphone is confirmed by TUV Rheinland certification. Realme’s internal laboratory tests have shown that the temperature of the smartphone case rises by no more than 10 degrees Celsius. The new battery has passed 1600 charge cycles from 0 to 100%, while retaining 80% of its original capacity. Under normal conditions, this is more than four years of using the gadget.
The smartphone has NFC support and runs on the Android operating system with the proprietary Realme UI 4.0 shell. The new realme GT Neo 5 will be available in three body colors — white, black and purple.
Realme GT Neo 5 with 240W charger and 16GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at CNY 3,199 (about $470), 16GB RAM and 1TB storage is priced at CNY 3,499 (about $515) .
The version with a 150W charger, in a configuration with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of permanent memory was estimated at 2499 yuan (about $ 368), the 12/256 GB version at 2699 yuan (about $ 400), and the version with 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of memory — 2899 yuan (about $427).
