China officially unveiled the OnePlus Ace 2 mid-range smartphone just a few hours before the premiere in India, where the same smartphone will be released under the name OnePlus 11R 5G. Externally, the novelty in many ways resembles the flagship OnePlus 11, but it costs much less and is equipped with last year’s flagship Snapdragon chip.
The smartphone is equipped with a curved 6.74-inch AMOLED display with Full HD + resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The system runs on last year’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 5G mobile flagship platform and will receive up to 16 GB of RAM.
The main camera received the same 50-megapixel IMX890 module as in OnePlus 11, but the Hasselblad branding from the rear panel has disappeared. There is also an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel macro module. Finally, hiding behind a hole in the display, the selfie module has a 16 megapixel matrix. The main rear camera can shoot video with a resolution of 4K and a frame rate of 30 frames / s, both electronic and optical image stabilization are supported.
The device received the Alert Slider already used by OnePlus in other models, located on the side and allowing you to quickly manage sound alerts without unlocking your smartphone. The novelty lacks a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The thickness of the smartphone is 8.7 mm, the weight is 204 g. OnePlus Ace 2 received a 5000 mAh battery with 100 W charging.
The OnePlus Ace 2 starts at $412 in China for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The 16/256 GB version will cost $457, while the 16/512 GB version will cost $516. Possible release to other markets outside of China will be announced at a later date.
