During the event held the day before, OnePlus published a teaser of two future smartphones — we are talking about folding models, which will probably be called OnePlus V Fold and V Flip. The debut of devices will have to wait until the third quarter.
OnePlus did not say anything about the names of the new models, but at the end of January it became known that the company registered the OnePlus V Fold and V Flip trademarks with the China State Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA). With a high probability, it can be argued that we are talking about a model with a large folding screen and a compact clamshell, respectively, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip. According to unconfirmed reports, the manufacturer is already testing devices in several countries, including Europe.
There is also a version that OnePlus foldable smartphones will be based on products from its sister brand OPPO — on the Find N2 and Find N2 Flip models. So far, these smartphones have not entered the global market, so the OPPO Find N2 and OnePlus V Fold may have a lot in common. But the OPPO Find N2 Flip is indeed gearing up for an international debut that could take place at MWC 2023, and the OnePlus V Flip is likely to be quite different from its sister model. According to the teaser, OnePlus’ foldable smartphones won’t be officially announced until Q3.
