How has FIFA reacted to the great seasons of footballers? Spades Messi, deprived of Toure and a trio from Leicester

Sometimes EA didn’t even improve the cards.

Player ratings in FIFA often raise questions. We took a look at some of the biggest seasons of famous football players and found out what cards they got in the Ultimate Team next year. You will be surprised, but EA Sports has not always improved the players!

Gonzalo Higuain – 2015/16 season at Napoli

The 2015/16 season is the peak of Gonzalo Higuain’s career. The Argentine striker scored a record 36 goals in 35 Serie A matches to finish second with Napoli. Higuaina instantly bought Juventus, and his new FIFA card improved by 4 points. A year later, EA finished his rating to 90.

Yaya Toure – 2013/14 season at Man City

Yaya Toure is a key box-to-box for City in the 1990s, but the 2013/14 season was special for the midfielder. The Ivorian almost always played in the center of the field, but in some incredible way he shot 20 goals in the Premier League! Together with the assists, Toure scored 29 effective actions, overtook teammate Sergio Aguero and got into the top three scorers in the league. EA was not impressed with the performance of the Ivorian. In FIFA 15, the Tour was again given a modest 86 points.

Lionel Messi – 2011/12 season at Barcelona

Lionel Messi’s best season is over ten years old. The Argentine preferred the position of a floating forward and achieved incredible results in it: 50 goals in La Liga and 14 in the Champions League. Messi flew out in the semi-finals of the European Cup, but still took the Golden Ball – 105 club scoring actions have not yet been submitted to anyone. FIFA gave the Argentine a rating of 94 a year before the unique season and did not change it. Do you think it was worth it?

Ngolo Kante, Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy – 2015/16 season at Leicester

Leicester’s magical championship crowned 2016 and revealed three big talents: Ngolo Kante, Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy. The French midfielder almost did not participate in the completion, but bit into any balls with lightning speed and seemed to be a modest leader of the club. Mahrez developed attacks and became famous for his signature shifts to the center, while Vardy endlessly ran into counterattacks and finished with enviable constancy.

EA faced a unique challenge and, as expected, stalled. In FIFA 17, Mahrez got 85 points, and although many fifers were outraged, the decision turned out to be correct. With Vardy and Kante it was different. The Englishman was in the top 3 strikers in the league, but received an average of 82 points. The Frenchman seemed to be the best defensive player in the Premier League, but he was improved by only 5 points – to a rating of 81.

EA never answered the question of how, with such underrated players, Leicester won the championship. Kante was given an elite rating of 87 a year later, and Vardy received a decent card (86) only in FIFA 21.

Cristiano Ronaldo – season 2014/15 at Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo has had many career ups. The Portuguese’s individual best season was 2015/16, in which he scored a record 48 league goals and performed well in the Champions League (10 goals). By an evil irony, KriRo lost La Liga and the Champions League, so he did not take the Golden Ball – Messi was a little better. FIFA noticed the progress of the Portuguese and improved his card from 92 to 93. A renaissance awaited him for the next three years: three Champions League victories and a top FIFA rating of 94.

Franck Ribery – season 2012/13 at Bayern

2013 ended with a total triumph for Bayern. The Munich club won the Bundesliga with just one defeat and went through the rink in the Champions League, including twice defeated Barcelona. Franck Ribéry’s performance hardly reflects his contribution to the game: he was the heart of Bayern’s combinations and the leader of the club. However, the Frenchman was not given the Golden Ball. Frank won the vote of the specialized press by a margin, but quite expectedly lost in the votes of the coaches and captains.

Ribery never recovered from the insulting result of ZM-2013: “It was as if he was stolen from me then. It’s incomprehensible. That year I won all the trophies, I simply could not do more. It wasn’t fair.” EA also surprised the fans of footsim and did not improve the Frenchman’s card (90) after a strong season.

Wesley Sneijder – season 2009/10 at Inter

The story of Wesley Sneijder is similar to the previous case. He was the main playmaker for Mourinho’s Inter, with whom he won Serie A and the Champions League, and also reached the final of the 2010 World Cup, scoring five crucial goals. In the journalists’ vote, Wesley slightly outperformed Andres Iniesta in the final, but the votes of the captains and coaches dropped the Dutchman to fourth place. In FIFA 11, Sneijder was improved by three points at once, but he remained a second-tier star. Only a year later, his rating was finally finished to 88.

Luis Suarez – 2015/16 season at Barcelona

Luis Suarez received his first major upgrade for 31 goals in the 2013/14 Premier League. After moving to Barcelona, he turned on the extra speed and even overtook Lionel Messi in the 2015/16 season. 58 league scoring is an amazing feat, and in terms of utility in all competitions, the Uruguayan comes close to Ronaldo’s best season yet. EA didn’t miss out on Suarez’s success and gave him a fantastic 92 rating.
