2K-owned American studio Firaxis Games (XCOM, Sid Meier’s Civilization) has shared several important news about structural changes and confirmed the development of a new game in the famous series.

After 25 years of work Firaxis leaves its head Steve Martin (Steve Martin). He was replaced by current studio COO Heather Hazen, who joined the organization in 2020.
Hazen’s appointment as head of Firaxis Games at 2K is called «beginning of a new era of development» for the studio. As it became known, a new part of the Sid Meier’s Civilization turn-based strategy series is in production.

«I’ve been fortunate to work with some of the best developers in our industry, and we have plans to take the Civilization franchise to exciting new heights for our millions of players around the world.»Hazen said.
The creative director of the new Sid Meier’s Civilization will be Ed Beach, who «has been an integral part of Civilization development for over 15 years». The franchise’s games recently surpassed 65 million copies in sales.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns was released on December 2, 2022 on PC (Steam, EGS), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. Until February 19, it is available on Steam (there is no game in the Russian segment) for free, and on February 23 it will receive a paid Redemption add-on with Venom.
