Embracer Group is developing five Lord of the Rings games at once

Last year, Embracer Group, which includes THQ Nordic, Gearbox and other companies, announced the purchase of a large studio Middle-earth Enterprises. This secured the Swedish holding the rights to adaptations (including video games) of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. The first information on new projects became known already today, February 16th.

Representatives of the Embracer Group have confirmed that Middle-earth Enterprises has five games in the Lord of the Rings universe in development. The relevant information is indicated in the income statement published by the holding, as well as in official microblog holding.
The leaked document also states that all five projects must be released by March 31, 2024. The games are created by third-party studios, so it is likely that at the time of the purchase of Middle-earth Enterprises, all of them were already in the active production phase. On the page of the Swedish holding on Twitter it is reported that the upcoming entertainment products are being created for PC, consoles and mobile devices.
At least one of the five games has been known for a long time – we are talking, of course, about the adventure stealth action The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. Information about the release of all Lord of the Rings projects by the end of March next year should not be taken literally – the release of the same long-suffering Gollum has been postponed several times already.
