Dead disappointed critics and players, and soon after the release it also went up in price

By the time of publication, Wanted: Dead had 45 reviews on Metacritic: the PC version had 19 reviews (average rating – 58%), PS5 – 15 (57%), and Xbox Series X and S – 11 (59% ). The average game rating is 58%.
Reviewers praise the combat system with spectacular finishing moves and combos, off-scale violence and old-school charm, and scold the boring gameplay, outdated elements, AI, camera work, voice acting, difficulty jumps and technical problems.
In general, critics agree that Wanted: Dead could have turned out to be a better game, and in its current form, it is unlikely that most modern gamers will like it. As opposed to a very specific niche audience.

In addition to the immediate qualities of the game, gamers were also disappointed by the sharp rise in the price of Wanted: Dead on Steam shortly after release. In the Russian segment, the game is not available, but abroad the price in some cases has increased significantly:
- Turkey – from 92 to 510 lira;
- Argentina – from 650 to 3800 pesos;
