The developers from the Polish studio CD Projekt RED on their forum talked about upcoming fixes for an improved version of their fantasy role-playing action movie The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Patch 4.01 on consoles on February 2 improved graphics, increased frame rate when playing with ray tracing, but lowered it in performance mode, and reduced CPU load on PC.
As it became known, in the coming days, CD Projekt RED plans to release a patch for the updated The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which is designed to fix the frame rate drops that occurred after 4.01.

In addition, CD Projekt RED is currently working on:
- increasing the efficiency of using CPU resources;
- improved game performance with DirectX 12;
- increased frame rates on consoles (particularly in performance mode);
- improved global illumination and shadows with ray tracing;
- restoring HBAO shading on PC;
- elimination of departures.
CD Projekt RED specifically noted that they are aware of an issue with some players being unable to complete the «Preparing for Battle» story quest. Now the studio is trying to establish the cause and reproduce the bug.

Finally, CD Projekt RED thanked all players for submitting problem reports, and stressed that the list of patch areas listed is not exhaustive.
The advanced version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released on December 14, 2022 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and S. Owners of the original game on PC, PS4 and Xbox One received the upgrade for free.
