Reliable insider Tom Henderson (Tom Henderson) in the material for his portal Insider Gaming shared behind-the-scenes details of the development of the next part of the post-apocalyptic Metro shooters from the studio 4A Games.

According to Henderson, the new Metro will be a sequel to 2019’s Metro Exodus and will start with a dream scene. The gameplay of the game will be similar to previous releases: shooting, stealth, crafting, searching for resources, and so on.
As for the development, it has advanced quite far — the game can already be played from start to finish. Based on the experience of Exodus, Henderson suggests that the release may be scheduled for 2024, and the announcement — for the current one.

Recall that 4A Games confirmed the new single-player Metro back in November 2020, and in January 2023 said that the game «changing for the better» and will touch on topics such as conflict, power, politics, tyranny and repression.
The next Metro is being created for PC and ninth generation consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X and S) on a completely redesigned 4A Games engine. Sales of Metro Exodus by the beginning of 2023 exceeded 6 million copies.
