Adan, Thief of Fire is a magic boss of Elden Ring, imprisoned in an eternal prison, who owns spiked flail and uses fire charms. This is an optional boss, as players do not need to defeat him to advance in the story.

Adan, Thief of Fire Location Elden Ring
Adan, Thief of Fire can be found in Malefactor’s Evergaol, which you can teleport to from a high cliff in Liurnia of the Lakes. Jump in the Spirit Spring and step into the portal to find him.
Unlike most evergaols, this one does not require a Stonesword Key to unlock. The transporter mechanism is active as soon as you reach the area. Enter the portal to challenge the boss imprisoned within: Adan, Thief of Fire.
How to Beat Adan, Thief of Fire
Aden wields a spiked mace and uses fire magic, but he’s so predictable that he shouldn’t take up much of your time.
General: Adan has resistance to fire. Pretty fast, for the owner of heavy armor. Spirits or phantoms cannot be summoned during combat. If you carefully fight with him, he can drink estus at least twice: for the first time at about 50% of health and replenishes 25% for himself, the second time at about 25% of health and replenishes 10% for himself. Adan tries to stay near his ball so that he closes the player’s view.
Ranged Strategy: Ranged combat tactics are the most relevant for Adan. Although the miniboss is equipped with heavy armor, it moves actively. At the moment of his appearance, he stands still for a while, which gives him a chance to deal damage. Dodges arrows and spells in most cases, but during the cast of the prayer “Flame of the Fallen God” there are three seconds to deal damage from a bow, crossbow or cast a spell. The boss can be blocked for a constant recasting of the prayer if you start running around him at a distance, which will allow you to create more time windows for damage. In addition, there are small windows during a series of mace strikes, a jump strike and a strong run-up strike, at the end of which the boss returns to the rack.
Melee Strategy: Melee combat against Adan is very risky, the combination of Flame and Breath causes huge damage even to a pumped-up character, so when approaching, you should try not to strike more than two or three blows, otherwise he will seize the initiative. Just like for the dalniks, it is vulnerable during the cast of the prayer “Flame of the Fallen God”, but instead of direct blows, it is better to make a backstep and jump away immediately after the animation. After each blow, it is better to move away from the boss for some distance and wait until he gets closer himself. The mace also does a lot of damage, but, like a long-range weapon, a series of blows, a jump shot and a strong run-up strike give windows either for damage or for health correction.
